It’s beginning to look a lot like…

First real outing with the new camera and a little pre-Christmas magic

Well, here we are… December 1.  I couldn’t even make it that far before I bought myself an early Christmas present.   Yes, Al, I finally did it… I upgraded to a Nikon D750 about a week or so ago.

An apple a day...

An apple a day…

I’ve been using a Nikon D700 and, honestly, it has been a real workhorse ~ no complaints!  But I could no longer ignore the signs.  A lot has changed since the D700 came out in 2008.   For instance, I’m not as quick as I used to be, my focus needs a lot more help, and I have a real hard time seeing in low light.  So this was not a just a case of GAS (gear acquisition syndrome).  It was a necessity (or so I tell myself 😉 ) to upgrade to a camera with improved focusing, better low light capabilities, and a few more bells & whistles ~ all to make my photographing experience go even smoother.  And now after a quick test drive on a cloudy, late afternoon, not so bright, losing light fast kind of day… I’m just wishing I had done it a couple Christmases sooner.

The British are coming!

So bring on the holiday festivities so I can what this baby can really do 🙂 !!!

Until next time,
Maria

Oh, and just in case you were wondering why I picked the D750 over say the D810 or D500.  Well, one was budget and the other was crop factor.  That made it pretty simple for me.  But if you need more details on all three, believe me, there are plenty of reviews out there that do a much better job than I ever could.
